Q: Why should solar panels be cleaned ?
A: Regular solar panel cleanings can contribute to the longevity of your solar system and help to ensure your panels are performing at maximum efficiency.
Q: How often should I have my solar panels cleaned ?
A: Most manufactures recommend having solar panels cleaned at least twice a year and even more frequently in dustier or windier areas.
Q: Can cleaning cause damage to the solar panels ?
A: We use equipment that is made to clean solar panels and always work with extreme caution to ensure that your panels are safely and effectively cleaned.
A: Regular cleanings typically take around 90 minutes. Heavily soiled panels may take more time achieve a quality cleaning.
Q: Do you use soap to clean solar panels ?
A: In most cases only deionized water is used to clean the panels. If the solar Panels are heavily soiled we use a cleaner that is specifically made to clean solar panels. This cleaner is free of any harsh chemicals or detergents and leaves zero leftover residue.
Q: Does cleaning solar panels increase their production ?
A: Dirt and other debris on panel surfaces can decrease production by up to 35% by blocking the photovoltaic cells. Solar panel cleanings can effectively reduce this blockage resulting in a higher production levels.
Q: Do I need to be home during the solar panel cleaning or bird proofing ?
A: No, the customer does not need to be home during solar panel cleanings or bird proofing. We can communicate with the customer through call/text upon arrival and we will send them an invoice via email after the job is finished.
Q: Does rain clean solar panels?
A: While rain may wash away the top layer of dust , it isn't enough to clean away the multiple layers of soiling that can become cemented on the panels surfaces over time.
